Finally after months of planning and preparations, Old Avenue Restaurant is finally open and operating. Our chefs will provide you with an incredible experience to taste the delicious flavours of the South Caucasus cuisine and the neighbouring Middle Eastern countries.

Southern Caucasus has always been distinguished for its fascinating nature, the warmth and hospitality of its people. Even famous French writer Alexander Duma could not conceal his admiration when he wrote about the richness of the region, especially Azerbaijani cuisine, how each ingredient complements each other in the prepared food. When we talk about cuisine of the surrounding area, the first 2 countries that come to mind are Israel and Turkey, countries with rich cuisine and traditions

CHEF’S BACKGROUND

Mahmud Allahverdiyev CHEF
graduated from the Baku Culinary School with highest grades in 1997. Throughout the years before coming to Canada, he participated in culinary championships in Europe and other parts of the world. In 2003, he received 2 gold medals in the world culinary championship “Taste of the World 2003”
He worked in different countries as a chef and he is the official ambassador of the Azerbaijan Culinary Association in Canada. Mahmud’s dedication and passion to procuring the freshest & finest foods, combined with his skills & imaginative preparations, ensures our valued guests will be served only the best, thoughtfully-sourced ingredients and products for a world-class culinary experience unlike any other.
